Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs – The Manual Arts 2009

This five-minute video featuring actor John Ratzenberger introduces Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs – the Foundation of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Intl. This foundation, of which Mr. Ratzenberger is a founder, addresses the impending skilled labor shortage in manufacturing and other manual arts, by providing funding to community organization for summer manufacturing camps that introduce junior high and high school students to career opportunities in manufacturing. Participants go through the entire manufacturing process from design through production and tour local manufacturing facilities. In addition, NBT provides scholarships to post-secondary students who want to prepare for careers in manufacturing fields. In addition to its traditional scholarship programs, NBT has offered a special YouTube-based scholarship program for the past two years. In this program students can post a video reply to the GoBrennan scholarship video which serves as their scholarship application.
